I got a email today that says I won a book called "The Crying Tree" by Naseem Rakha, from July's ReadingGroupsGuide.com contest! Now I'm wondering. It says I'm winning a copy, but also says the publisher will be sending the books to the address I provided! "bookS"? Was that a typo, or did I win the bookclub giveaway, when they send a box of them? I guess I'll see!

It's kind of a rough story, if I get a box I may have a problem getting others to read it! It's about a family who moves to Oregon from Illinois against the will of the mother, so the father can be the sherriff or some such, and it being big bad Oregon, the teenage son gets killed in a home robbery by some neer do well druggie thief, who gets put on death row, and the mother eventually forms some kind of secret friendship with him... and then his appeals run out. Fun for the whole family! Of course I just entered all their contests without reading every description!

I remember seeing your book in a contest, I can't remember which one either tho. A book site tho, I think.

Just another heartwarming day in sunny funny Oregon! :)

The northwest has had a reputation for oddness and weirdness ever since "Twin Peaks", and of course, now we've got sparkling vampires to die for. People always ask me if it is really weird. We're at the end of the world, as it were, it's just lots of trees and lots of water, and it rains all the time, so people are cooped up for months on end, and yeah, things can get a little strange for sure.
