Mineral Build Up Remover
pour a small amount of vinegar around the base of your sink faucets that have mineral build up. Sprinkle salt and let sit a minute or so. WIpe sparkling clean! Never would've believed it until I tried it.
Unglogging Drains
As a Landlord who has had many clogged drains over the years (and many Plumbing bills!) I was told by a Plumber that Bleach is cheaper and better for your drains not only as a preventative if you have girls with long hair, but to unclog as well!
Best Moisturizer
As a licensed Cosmetologist I have used Olive or Vegetable oil as a moisturizer for years. What most people don't realize is their lotions are mineral based and so they sit on the surface of the skin instead of being absorbed. I only moisturize a couple times a week because when I do it counts! Besides, it's much cheaper and no you won't smell bad. If you prefer you can even add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. I use a squirt bottle to apply it. I even use it on my babies. Tried baby lotion cause people bought it for me, but then they got eczema...olive oil cleared it up!
leg shaving
i always have conditioner left after the shampoo is gone -i use this for shaving -works better than soap.
spiral bulbs
while they may be somewhat more efficient -they contain mercury and must be disposed of properly -contact your local waste facility for info.
doggy pads
if you purchase pet pads for "indoor" dogs -try newspaper in a plastic cat box instead.check your local paper for ink content.
WATER YOUR PLANTS
I USE THE MUCKY OLD DOG AND CAT WATER FROM THEIR BOWLS AND WATER MY PLANTS WITH IT, IT SAVES WATER AND THE PLANTS GET NUTRIENTS FROM THE ANIMALS MOUTHS :p
reuse paper
we have a fireplace so instead of filling up our trash with paper wrappers and scraps we use all of our paper as fire starter...that along with recycling plastics and putting organics in the garden, cuts down on our trash by a lot
